AHMEDABAD: A cop, in Khaki who is supposed to be the savior handed over his lathi to his minor younger brother to thrash another minor outside a school located in CTM area of the city on Friday afternoon. However the school authorities as well as the cops claimed ignorance regarding the incident as no official complaint was lodged.
Eye witness and a ward of the student of the same school told TOI on condition of anonymity that around 12 noon on Friday a student aged around 14 years had a scuffle with another student about his age outside the school compus.
"Minutes later a police constable, who claimed to be the elder brother of one of the boy rushed in full uniform and gave his lathi to the boy whom he called his younger brother and asked him to thrash the other boy,” eyewitness said.
Sources said the police constable also warned onlookers not to intervene. "The boy was thrashed mercilessly by constable’s younger brother after which both of them left on a bike," added a source.
A school staff confirming the incident said it happened outside the school campus, while the principal of the school claiming ignorance said he was out for a meeting.
Eyewitness claimed that he brought the incident to the notice of the school staff but avoided contacting police out of fear as his son too is studying in the same school.
